That’s right guys! Morning Musume’s newest single “Help me!!” has reached #1 on the Oricon charts, selling 93k it’s first week! Which already sold more than their previous single “Wakuteka Take a Chance”, selling only 88k. This makes Morning Musume’s first #1 since Shouganai Yume Oibito, which was released 3 years, 8 months, and 10 days ago! This also makes Morning Musume the first female group to have #1’s in the three recent decades (1990’s, 2000’s, and 2010’s)!
So, CONGRATULATIONS TO MORNING MUSUME ON THEIR #1!
This is my first #1 a group have received since I’ve become a Hello! Project fan (I became a fan during June/July of 2009, so I just missed Shouganai Yume Oibito’s #1), so I am quite proud and really happy for Morning Musume. I’m also positive that the newer members are also quite happy about it too since it is also their first #1. With great sales and wonderful rank, it was an absolutely perfect way to start the new year in Hello! Project releases and even the new year itself.
As I said in previous posts, Sayumi leadership is leading Morning Musume back onto the right track of wonderful sales and ranks and getting the group’s name known once again. With extremely new catchy songs and recently great promotion, it probably wouldn’t be long for Morning Musume to become quite popular again and it wouldn’t be so shocking to see them get another #1 again in the near future. Sayumi is definitely leading the new Morning Musume into the right direction!
Not only is Morning Musume recently celebrating in their first #1 within this decade, but Morning Musume also celebrated their 15 year mark yesterday. 15 years ago from yesterday, Morning Musume’s debut single “Morning Coffee” was officially released, unknowingly starting something that would last for quite a long time and is recently still topping to the charts. CONGRATULATIONS TO MORNING MUSUME’S 15 YEARS!
I was only a fan of Morning Musume for 3 (almost 4) years out of the 15 years they were around, but I still really love them. I love the past Morning Musume, the present Morning Musume, and the future Morning Musume. To celebrate their 15 years, here’s a mini picture spam of Morning Musume (within my 3 years of being a fan, 2009 – now).
Congratulations to the hard working girls of Morning Musume for reaching another #1 on the Oricon charts and hopefully we see more of that number in the near future, and also, congratulations on reaching your 15 year mark and let’s hope for another wonderful 15 years~! I’m so very proud of and happy for Morning Musume :)!
