Top 21 Hello! Project Singles of 2011.

Hello_projectSo, It’s the beginning of a new year, which means It’s a beginning of new Singles. The singles this year were quite good, if I say so myself. There were 21 Hello! Project singles this year. So, I’ll start my top Hello! Project singles rank!

#21 – Zassou no Uta (Buono!)

Though this single was Buono!’s comeback single after a year hiatus. For me, it was a big disappointment. It was just kinda boring, you know?  Like, the song has a good flow to it but it was not my favorite single of the year.  Buono! was is such an awesome group with pretty awesome songs and singles. But this single was just a big disappointment compared to the others.

#20 – Amazuppai Haru ni Sakurasaku (BeriKyuu)

For something as awesome has a Berryz Koubou & C-ute collaboration. This single was another disappointment. It’s nice and cute. But that’s the problem. You see this single was made for a movie starring Berryz Koubou & C-ute. But that movie was a horror film, and this single is by far from being as intense as a horror film or for a horror film.  I was thinking, maybe, this single is about a nice classroom and being friends with everyone. The closeness.. maybe? But I’m not really sure, I haven’t seen the movie nor the translated version for this song. So, this single is stuck at being #20.

#19 – Makuruna Wasshoi (Bekimasu)

Even though, This single isn’t really a single. Being only sold at concerts during the summer. It is now being sold like regular singles. But this single was a bit surprising since it was a Bekimasu single, and you wouldn’t really know what to expect but it was actually pretty good.  It’s bit all over the place but it’s really catchy. It would kinda be like a song to pump yourself up. maybe? Anyway, this single was pretty good but it ranks pretty low for compared to the other singles this year.

#18 – Sekaiichi HAPPY na Onna no ko (C-ute)

C-ute singles were quite disappointing after Kiss me Aishiteru. And this single would have to be my least favorite C-ute single this year. It’s just not as awesome as their other singles this year. It’s still really cute and fun. I have no problems with this single, I do really like it. It’s just you would totally expect more awesome singles after Kiss me Aishiteru. So this single is at #18.

#17 – Momoiro Sparkling (C-ute)

Another cute C-ute single that’s near the bottom of my list. But this C-ute single is extremely cute and bubbly. I really like it. It’s really adorable. Everything about this single is really cute. It wasn’t as disappointing as Sekaiichi HAPPY na Onna no ko but It wasn’t as awesome as Kiss me Aishiteru. It’s kinda like in middle. And so it’s at #17.

#16 – Natsu DAKARA! (Buono!)

A different image for Buono! Instead of their rock-ish singles, they changed it up to a more softer tone. I actually liked their change and I really liked this single. Way better than Zassou no Uta. This single is really relaxing, I find. I’m always singing along or singing it while I’m cooking. It’s a really good. The best Buono! single this year.

#15 – Ai no Dangan (Berryz Koubou)

This single isn’t the best Berryz Koubou single this year, but it’s still pretty good. Despite the skin tight outfits and awkward dance. It’s still pretty good. It’s a bit of a different image for Berryz Koubou. It’s a bit more rock-ish than the usual Berryz Koubou singles. Captain got a couple solo lines. It’s all good when Captain gets lines. I really like this single so that’s why it is at #15.

#14 – Maji Desu ka Ska! (Morning Musume)

Kyuukies first debut single. The start of a new beginning for Morning Musume. Everyone got even lines. It’s a really good song. Really Genki. This single really boosts up my mood when I’m feeling a bit low. Also, The dance is really fun. I fail at leg part but it’s still really fun to do. It’s such a cheerful song. I can’t help but smile when I listen to this single. Even though, It isn’t my favorite single from Morning Musume this year. But it’s still really good and genki.

#13 – Seishun Serenade (Mano Erina)

This single has a calming feeling at the beginning but gets really random and genki near the end. With the random roll calls and shouts, but I really like this single. Erina’s voice is really nice in this song. And her voice is really improving lately. This single is calming but really fun at the same time. And Erina does an amazing job with this single by making it calm but fun. Also, She sings this song really well live.

#12 – My Days for You (Mano Erina)

Another calming song from Mano Erina. I find this single is a bit more elegant than Seishun Serenade. It’s a really nice single. I really like it. Erina’s voice is really wonderful in this single. Really relaxing and calming. She does a really good job. Erina hasn’t really done any slow songs like this since her indie days and a couple of her singles. Which is really nice to change it up a bit sometimes.

#11 – Unchouten LOVE (S/mileage)

The last single with the original 4 members and Ogawa Saki. This single is fun and very parapara. Even though this single had a deep meaning with it. (Saki’s last single). It’s a bit low on my list compared to the other S/mileage singles. I really do like this single it’s just I like the other singles a bit more than this one. It’s really fun to dance to. The dance is really fun and bit all over the place and like I said very parapara. It’s still really fun to do. So it’s at #11.

#10 – Koi ni Booing Buu! (S/mileage)

This single is really cute with the pig theme. I think S/mileage did a very good job with the really odd theme. At first I didn’t really like this single when it came out. But as the year went by, I really warmed up to this single. It’s really fun all together. It’s fun to dance to, It’s fun to sing along. It’s just really fun. That’s why it’s at #10 of my list.

#9 – Heroine ni Narou ka! (Berryz Koubou)

I really like this Berryz Koubou single. It’s really good. It has a really good beat and intro. Their voices sound really well in this single. Everyone got at least 1 solo line, Yurina’s auto-tune sounds really well too. It’s just a really awesome single. The MV was pretty awesome too. With all the lights & their Lady Gaga cosplay.

#8 – Kiss me Aishiteru (C-ute)

C-ute’s 15th single Kiss me Aishiteru is at #8 on my list. This single is by far the best C-ute single this year. I really like songs like this, with this kinda beat. Everyone sounds really good. They did a really good job. This single is also really sexy. With their revealing outfits and really sexy dance. This dance has a lot of leg movement. Which is pretty cool. Chisato does a really good job with singing this song. It was her first time being center in a single instead of the usual Maimi and Airi duet. Chisato and Airi really make this single really awesome.

#7 – Aa, Yo ga Akeru (Berryz Koubou)

Another really sexy single in my top ten. This single would have to be my favorite Berryz Koubou single. It has a really good beat and flow to it. Everyone sounds really amazing, They did a really good job singing in a more calmer tone than usual. This single is also another different image for Berryz Koubou. But with this one, they used a more Sexy image. They did a really good job. Miyabi’s high notes sound really well, she did a really good job. Even though the dance isn’t that good and doesn’t really go with song. This single would have to be my favorite Berryz Koubou single this year.

#6 – Kono Chikyuu no Heiwa wo Honki de Negatterun da yo! (Morning Musume)

Takahashi Ai’s last single with being in the group. This single has a bit of a disco theme going on. It’s really good and catchy. They did a really good job with this single. Also this single sold a lot, it’s the second single with the highest sales in Hello! Project. It didn’t get #1 on the Oricon chart but it did get #2, which is really good for Morning Musume. Since they haven’t got #2 since Nanchatte Renai. I really like this single, I always end up singing it randomly. Even though some of the members didn’t a solo line, it still sounds really good.

#5 – Only you (Morning Musume)

Morning Musume’s 46th single is at #5 on my list. This single would have to be the best Morning Musume single this year. I really love the intro and the beat. It’s mostly Ai, Reina and Riho centered but it’s still really nice, It’s really elegant. I find Risa’s auto-tuned raps are the best parts in the single. The outfits are really awesome. This single is pretty awesome all together.

#4 – Busu ni Naranai Tetsugaku (Mobekimasu)

A collaboration with all of Hello! Project. It may not be H.P All Stars and everyone may not have gotten a line. It’s mostly the centers of each group singing the song. But it’s still pretty awesome. I really like the outfits for this single. I like the outfits underneath the puffy dresses more than the puffy dressers, but they’re still nice too. This song is really fun, the dance looks really fun. When they perform it live, it looks like they’re all having a ball. Also, This single did sell a lot with all their promotions. It’s the highest selling 2011 single in Hello! Project.

#3 – Please mini-skirt Postwomen (S/mileage)

Maeda Yuuka’s graduation single and S/mileage’s first single to actually feature the new members (Tachiagaaru doesn’t count because they didn’t actually sing). S/mileage have gotten a new center, Meimi, Her voice really suits the group. This single is for real adorable. It’s so cute, I love it. It has kinda like princess theme. Everything about this single is really cute. The outfits, the MV, the dance, everything. The MV actually has a little story at the beginning, with DAWA being late for work, It’s really cute. Everyone sounds really nice.

#2 – Tachiagaaru (S/mileage)

Even though this was the new members debut single, they didn’t get to sing at all. All they got were the little fuwa’s and fu’s. When I first heard this single, I didn’t like it, at all. They got new members but the original members sang the whole song. I thought it was quite unfair. But then I realized that they were sub-members, and not real members. And there was a chance that they wouldn’t be one the next single. I realized that it would have been pointless if a sub-member sang in this song but then had to go home. So, after I realized that I started to like this single more and more. It’s an adorable song, I really like it now. The MV is really cute, random, but cute. So it’s at my #2.

#1 – Shortcut (S/mileage)

So, My #1 favorite single this year is S/mileage’s 4th single Shortcut. I absolutely love and adore this single. I actually don’t know why I love this single so, but I just do. I love everything about this single. The outfits, The covers, The MV, The lyrics, everything. This single always makes my day. I can listen to this single over and over and not get sick of it. I just love it. The best S/mileage single ever.

—————————————————————

So now that my count down is over. I want to talk about this year in Hello! Project. It was a really busy year, with all the graduations and auditions. But also, It was a really good year. So I just want to talk about a couple things.

Morning Musume

Morning Musume had a really busy year, With Ai’s graduation and 2 Auditions. They lost 1 member but gained 8 new members in just one year. Their singles were pretty good and they ranked pretty well on Oricon charts too, The lowest being #5 and the highest being #2. I hope they have another good year with Risa as the leader. I hope they do well.

Berryz Koubou

Berryz Koubou had some pretty awesome singles this year. Berryz Koubou didn’t have a crazy year like Morning Musume or S/mileage. But they did get to go to America for Sakuracon,  And they’re going to America again in the Summer time. Which is pretty cool. They ranked okay on the Oricon chart. Their lowest at #11 and their highest at #7. I hope they get a higher rank this year.

C-ute

C-ute also didn’t have a crazy year. But the members were in a lot of plays and movies. They had a pretty okay year this year, but the downside would probably be their sales. They’re slipping, Sekaiichi HAPPY na Onna no ko only sold about 20k all together. Their ranks were pretty good, their lowest being #6 and their highest being #4. I hope their sales go back up this year.

Mano Erina

Mano Erina had pretty good year. She didn’t put out a lot of singles this year but she was very busy with dramas and movies. The singles she did release were really good, very soft and calming. She also did okay on the charts, her lowest at #13 and her highest at #10. I hope she gets a rank high than #10 this year.

S/mileage

S/mileage had a crazy year, with all the members coming and going. A shocking announcement in May for auditions for new members. In August they got 5 new members then later that month Ogawa Saki leaves the group to focus on her studies. In early September sub-member Kosuga Fuyuka withdraws from the group due to an illness. And at the end of December Maeda Yuuka graduates from group the focus on University. Their sales and ranks were really good. Their lowest at #6 and their highest at #4. I hope no one leaves this year and I also hope for new members. Their number of members is going down.
